Excellent purchase

Everything worked out as planned, shipped easily, very affordable. Installation was easy once got the right mounting bolts. Would definitely recommend as an added safety benefit in carrying passengers.

No mounting hardware

I got no mounting hardware with this. Also, the pad is rather cheaply made particle board.I don't see how the two screws holding it will last long.

Mounting bolts were too long, had to be cut off to clear fender. Directions could have been more clear. But it does appear to be of good material.

Hey, nice rack!

Kuryakyn makes hands down the finest mass produced add-ons for motorcycles and this luggage rack is no exception. The fit and finish of their products is second to none, as well as the aesthetic considerations that go into their designs. No standard luggage rack made of chrome tubing, this rack provides flat surfaces for your gear and curves in all the right places to help secure everything. I use mine with an Ultragard luggage rack bag (I think this is a Hopnel brand)and could not be happier. The rack is sturdy and easy to attach to and looks like a million bucks.
Be forewarned that if you choose to do the install yourself and your bike is equipped with a spoiler (thereby necessitating the use of the optional riser kit) you must be very careful about the placement of your mounting holes. The legs that attach this rack to the trunk lid are angled inward and the riser kit exaggerates those angles, causing the holes to be in a different place than if you were just mounting the rack directly to the lid without the spoiler. This could spell disaster (and extra holes in your trunk lid) if you don't consider the risers in deciding where to drill your mounting holes. The rub is this: Neither the instructions included with the rack nor the riser kit address this issue. In my mind, that's inexcusable considering the potential damage and resulting cost. Furthermore, the instructions with each product approach the install a little differently which wasted my time when trying to figure out how best to handle the install.
Also, the bolts provided with the risers that are meant to be used in the rear legs of the rack are too long and require the use of extra spacers to tighten properly. This is uncharacteristic of Kuryakyn hardware that I've dealt with in the past, but it is the case here. It is the shortfall in instructions and mounting hardware that loses this otherwise stellar product one star.
The bottom line: Buy this rack . It looks beautiful and works wonderfully. BUT, have a professional install it or be extra careful doing it yourself for the reasons stated above, lest you inadvertently air condition your trunk and cost yourself a lot of extra money.

touch of class

I have a spoiler on my 2008 gold wing but did not order the risers. It sits just above the spoiler and looks great. The shipping was fast, installation was not bad sense I hesitate to do my own add on, but I did and it went great and fit perfectly. It took me about two hours but anyone that enjoys doing their own add on could do it in half the time. So far everything looks great and is keeping its shine.

Nice Luggage Rack

One has to like the look and style to lay out that much money for the rack. It takes some thought to purchase this when you can purchase the tube style for almost 1/3 of the cost. That said, I did spend the money with no one forcing me to do so, and the rack looks great and sets well on the trunk lid. I used the riser kit also to allow more space for cleaning. Kuryakyn makes great products and sometimes you have to spend a little more money to get what you want. The matching bag sits well on the rack also.

Excellent!

Spendy for an air pad, however it works! I went from having to get off the bike every hour because "certain parts" would get numb, to being able to go for more than three hours without a problem! IMO, this beats sheepskins, gel pads, and memory foam. I'm very glad I got one!

Quality Comfort

Construction of the bladder feels substantial, the cover is somewhat light with a sticky zipper and the mounting lanyards and loops are light and fragile, the hooks that attach the Lanyards keep turning and sliding out, look to DIY an upgrade, but the bladder has some toughness to it. The antislip bottom lends structure. The comfort is worlds away from stock and gels. It only takes a whisper of air to get the suspension required. Plan to spend some saddle time getting it right. there is no definitive measurements, just inflate or deflate until it feels right and it will feel oh so right!. I recommend this.

Very comfortable

I've only ridden with the cushion a minimal amount but what I have experienced was positive. Don't over inflate it or it's not much better than the regular seat. For me it seems that when it appears fairly under inflated it's just right. It feels like you're riding on a gel cushion that's adjustable.

More improvement then I thought

Im 6-2 football linemane build. My feet are now supported and much more comfortable on an all day ride. Since they move the boards forward, along with out, the cornering clearance was not really affected. I might scrap a bit sooner, but not much. But Im probably one of the few that ever scrapes their floorboards on a Touring Harley anyway. Instructions could of been clearer. Once I figured them out installation was a breeze.

I like 'em

I would have given the product 5 stars but the installation is a bit of a pain because of the type of fasteners they supply. Also, the fasteners are not as nice looking as they should be since you can see the front bolt.

Functionally they're great . One inch out and up doesn't sound like a lot, but for long legged guys it makes a HUGE difference. Overall, I'm very glad I bought them.

i bought my bike new in 2000 and after 12 seasons, 30k miles it was time for fork seals and it was a NO brainer to replace the springs as well for that NEW bike real. really easy and now i feel safer on the road

These babies are beefy heavy 1/4" chrome plated steel.
Outstanding chrome. The adjustable arms are very well made.
Great quality. Seems to me that they could be made of lighter material. They bolt to the aluminum floorboards which would be the weak link anyway and it's not like you are going to put your full body weight on these peg mounts.

Very good product

Very pleased with this product. Was very easy to install, even the part that included drilling 3 holes per mount. Have held up very well to a season of riding and loof forward to many more seasons to come.
